In the heart of the captivating rolling meadows, dwelt a young shepherd. His being was essentially pure, simple, and honest. His main role was mainly to tend to his flock of rams.

One afternoon he ran into the village screaming “Wolf! There is a wolf attacking my sheep!” The terrified villagers ran up the hills to offer assistance but found nothing threatening.
The boy giggled at the confusion on their faces. This trick read more persisted for a few days more. However, one day, a real wolf actually charge at the flock. The shepherd boy dashed for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the village only to receive a reprimand on honesty and the consequences of false alarms.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the importance of honesty, the consequences of lying and the risks of false alarms. Moreover, it highlights how trust once violated, is difficult to earn back. It's a story as pertinent today as it was in the past.
